लाँकुरी रुट्स: Google's Real-time Search

Google's Real-time Search

Monday, December 7, 2009

What technology creates is not just the fanatical and elliptical thoughts of devil minds. We have seen many much of such imaginative papers and animation works come to reality in the last few years. I will try to post on which of such imaginations have been materialized in coming days. But for now lets have a look at the brand new feature released by "our master - dictator - ruler" GOOGLE kicking BING and YAHOO back to the slum in their race. This is GOOGLE's answer to BING's comradeship with Twitter and Facebook a few months ago.

Google says,'Our users will get the results as they are produced, there is so much information being generated out there that getting to you relevant information is the key to a product like this.' You know what that means ? Let me put it more simply, as I finish typing this stuff and click 'POST', it will be indexed in Google Search and anyone who will search for the key words here like ' Google reat time search', this result will be displayed in their pages in the fraction of a second. That is what it means.
To blend this feature and make it more sensible, the 'keywords' and queries are pulled from REAL TIME dynamic websites like TWITTER, FACEBOOK and of course BLOGS.

UPDATE : I was trying on this as well but it has not yet been fully released. :P
But I found a workaround for it :
-> Search for anything, say "Pokhara"and do "Show Options", In the left column you will see  "All Results", "Any Time"  but NOT "Latest". To invoke it, do the following :
In the same results address bar which looks like:
http://www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=&=&q=pokhara&aq=f&oq=&aqi=g10
go to the end and add, "&esrch=RTSearch" so it will look like :
http://www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=&=&q=pokhara&aq=f&oq=&aqi=g10 &esrch=RTSearch
Now you will realise that the  "Latest" option has been invoked under "Any Time "

I searched for "nepal" and got following results:

google real time search

Alongside, is the new GOOGLE tool being released which it calls as  'GOOGLE GOGGLES' ... oogly googly riddle ha  ? In simple words, you take a picture of anything with text in it and send it to google. GOOGLE then scans for those texts and displays the relevant searches. For now, this feature is only available in phones using Android Os. i.e. HTC's. Cant wait to get it on iPhone and Blackberry:).
On that a quick note from my head, I read somewhere by 2012 ( not the movie :P), the mobile market would be in following hierarchy :

1. Nokia with Symbian OS    current 1

2. HTC's with Android          current 5

3. iPhones with ****             current 3

4. Windows Mobile               current 4

5. Blackberry                         current 2

In a way I see it coming because of Nokia's giantness and Googles dictatorship in our lifestyles, and Apples stubornness not to go outside iTunes playground. HTC it is my elder bro GR  :P.

Further, we still have to check how will the GOOGLE WAVE influence the FORUMS and PROJECTS environments. ( I've got some invitations if you want to try it out. ;).

Other GOOGLE product that may push HTC's forward with googles support could be GOOGLE VOICE supposed to hit the market soon.

Confused, clear your head with the videos below:

And here for GOOGLE GOGGLES :
