There are many such converters and many online converters in market. This one called DownloadHelper always gets my recommendation because :
- can download any media (mp3, flv, mp4, avi etc) from any web pages.
- if you're registered for conversion, can convert youtube files to mp3 (and other extensions)
*Available only in Firefox. These neat little addons are the only reasons that keep me from switching to fast Chrome :D
Here's how I do it:
- Download the version 4.8.3 from here. (as of now latest version is 4.8.4, but you'll see later why I asked for 4.8.3)
- Open with Mozilla Firefox and install the add on.
While *watching youtube videos, to convert them to MP3, find and download the script DownloadHelper.for.Firefox.v4.8.3-HERiTAGE.zip from the internet (google it :P).
- Unzip
- Copy the dhConvertMgr.js file to
C:\Users\<YOURUSERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<something>.default\extensions\{b9db16a4-6edc-47ec-a1f4-b86292ed211d}\components
and paste it replacing the old file there.
- now play youtube songs and notice the animating icon on bottom right corner of firefox. Click on the small arrow (NOT the icon)
- Choose Download & Convert then can choose from any of these extensions :
- Select Mp3, choose a folder to save.
Not done yet !
This saves the FLV file to Temp folder and converts it later. After the download is complete, a new window pops up like this:
When the conversion is complete, the file is served in your chosen folder.
Its a bit hassle, but reliable ! (and can download *ANY files from *almost-all media pages) ! Whenever it sees a downloadable media, the icon starts to animate.
